Terms of service

RETURNS

Returns will only be accepted if item is in brand new and unused. All returns are subject to approval. Returns are only valid within 30 days of purchase. If item was not shipped within a week of purchase, then returns are only valid within 30 days of ship date. Buyer assumes all return shipping costs. Funds will be refunded within 30 days after the product has been confirmed received by seller. Returns will not be accepted if unit is damaged by shipping couriers due to improper packing or damaged by purchaser. A restocking fee of 25% applies on all refunded items that are already shipped as well as pre-order items. No refunds can be offered on any custom products.

Order Cancellation: Cancellation requests made within 72 hours of placing an order will be refunded with no fee. After the 72 hour period, cancellations will be subject to a 25% Materials fee. This fee covers the spot taken in the queue, time, and materials allocated to the purchase after the 72 hour period. To avoid this fee please make sure to reach out to Support@chibatterysystems.com before the 72 hour window is up. All requests placed in that period of time will be honored regardless if a response is given by ChiBatterySystems in that time frame.

If you choose to repurchase a product within 30 days of order cancellation, any restocking fee previously charged may be applied as a credit towards a new purchase of the same or an equivalent item.

Refunds: ChiBatterySystems will process all refunds to the original form of payment. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for your bank to credit the funds back to your account. Shipping charges on delivered orders are not eligible for refund. 

NON BATTERY PRODUCTS

All non-battery products come with a limited 6 month manufacture warranty. Non-battery products include chargers. This warranty is an extension of the original factory warranty and not directly warrantied by Chibatterysystems. Chibatterysystems does not warranty or manufacture it’s chargers directly. The warranty does not include any items that can wear out or are known to need replacement occasionally such as, rocker switches, heat shrink, etc.  This warranty does not cover any damage inflicted on the product by the user.  Replacement parts will be sold for rider inflicted damage. If the damage is indeed manufacture related, seller will either request the broken part to be detached from the unit and mailed to our headquarters for repair or seller will send a replacement part along with directions on correct installation. The unit may also be shipped back to seller at the purchasers expense for repair.  Warranty is only valid if product is purchased directly from seller’s store (Chiboards.com, chibatterysystems.com). 6 month limited warranty does not cover damage caused by the misuse of the product. Misuse includes submerging in water, impacts and improper flexing of the unit.  Warranty may be voided if buyer modifies the product without seller approval. Warranty is VOID if purchaser modifies or opens the unit up in any way such as removing the heat shrink, or changing connectors without proper technique.

ORDERS FLAGGED AS FRAUDULENT

Some orders may be flagged as potentially fraudulent by our online ordering system. In such cases, we initiate an internal investigation and may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your order. This may result in delays to the initial fulfillment estimate. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you to resolve the issue. If we do not receive a response within 45 days from the date the order is ready to ship, we will automatically issue a refund, subject to our restocking fee.

ABANDONED ORDERS

We may need to contact you regarding your order prior to shipping, for reasons such as an incomplete shipping address or custom requests noted in your order. We will make reasonable efforts to reach you for the necessary information. If we do not receive a response within 45 days of the product being ready to ship, we will proceed to ship the product with its standard specifications. If shipping is not possible due to an incomplete address, we will cancel the order and issue a refund, subject to our stated restocking fee. If you choose to repurchase a product within 30 days of order cancellation, any restocking fee previously charged may be applied as a credit towards a new purchase of the same or an equivalent item.

WARRANTY AND SERVICE

Every battery comes with a 12 month Manufacturers Warranty. Manufacturing defects are serviced free of charge for up to one year from the date of delivery. Issues deemed to not be at the fault of the manufacturer can still be serviced but there may be additional fees applied. We will accept a product for service for up to two years from the date of delivery. Customers will pay shipping on service for products unless otherwise specified by a ChiBatterySystems agent. Customers outside of the contiguous United States will pay for shipping regardless of time since receiving product. Service cannot be guaranteed for customers outside of the contiguous United States. If a product is returned to ChiBatterySystems that poses a serious health or safety risk, regardless of fault, we reserve the right to neutralize the risk with no guarantee of reimbursement to any party involved. Products finished in service are given 90 days to complete any invoice if applicable and provide a return address for the serviced product. Our primary contact method will be the email the initial service request was made under. Please ensure to keep an eye on your inbox as well as the spam folder for updates from our service team. If the invoice is not paid for or the return address is not provided, the product is subject to company restocking or neutralizing with no reimbursement.

BATTERY WARNING

WARNING: LITHIUM ION BATTERIES MAY EXPLODE OR BURN DUE TO IMPROPER USE. USING THESE BATTERIES FOR PURPOSES NOT INTENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER MAY CAUSE SEVERE INJURY AND DAMAGE.

YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO PURCHASE AND OPERATE.

With a high power battery system, we strongly advise installation by a professional to ensure your wiring is set up correctly and safely. Improper installation/wiring is dangerous and can result in critical failure.

All rechargeable batteries have inherent risks under any circumstance. Use caution when working with Li-ion (Lithium-ion), LiPo (Lithium-ion Polymer) and any rechargeable cells (together "Rechargeable Batteries"), as they have dangerous charging characteristics and are known to explode or burn if mishandled. A purchaser and user of Rechargeable Batteries should educate themselves on Rechargeable Batteries, especially as to charging, discharging, assembly and storage. We are not responsible for any damage caused by misuse or mishandling of Rechargeable Batteries. You shall indemnify and hold ChiBatterySystems, its directors, officers, partners, contractors, licensors, employees, and agents harmless from and against all claims, demands, damages, liabilities, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, relating directly or indirectly to the products purchased.

Here are a few tips:

  • Always charge these batteries on and within fire-proof material.

  • Never leave Rechargeable Batteries in a recharging station unattended.

  • Do not use any Rechargeable Battery or charger if any visible damage is present, or if known mishandling, accidental or otherwise, has occurred.

  • Always store and transport rechargeable cells in a safe, non-conductive container.

  • Properly dispose of all battery cells and chargers in accordance to local laws and mandates (if you're unsure, call your local municipality).

  • If a Rechargeable Battery overheats, hisses, or bulges, immediately quarantine the battery from any combustible materials. Ideally, take the battery outside.

  • If a Rechargeable Battery catches fire, the FAA recommends pouring water or soda on the battery and surrounding areas. Ideally, use a foam extinguisher to quell the fire.

PRODUCT SERVICING

Chibatterysystems proudly stands behind its products and will always service a product if it has been found to be at the fault of the manufacturer and that the customer has taken proper care of the product. 

Upon purchase the customer agrees that they are knowledgeable on battery maintenance and safety procedures. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Proper storage of the battery at nominal voltage during periods of long term storing. 
  • Proper storage placement in a dry, temperature controller environment. 
  • Batteries with a built in BMS are recharged to 50% every two months. 
  • Removal of battery prior to cleaning the vehicle with water. 
  • Following all included procedures listed in informational guides sent with products. 
  • Maintaining battery life through proper charging procedures.

MANUFACTURER RATINGS

All ratings, including rated capacity, max pulse discharge current, and continuous max discharge current are determined by the manufacturer.

Chibatterysystems does not certify or otherwise guarantee the validity of these ratings or the suitability of these batteries for any particular application.

Purchaser agrees that responsibility for verifying ratings and validity of battery for any application lies solely with the purchaser, and that choosing the wrong lithium ion battery can result in severe personal injury or even death. Purchaser agrees that Chibatterysystems accepts no responsibility should battery prove unsuitable, unsafe, or otherwise unfit for their use. If battery is purchased for resale, purchaser agrees to forward all warnings to buyer, and assume responsibility for such.

Warfare Supplying Policy

Purpose

We have a zero-tolerance policy to warfare supplying. We are committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity, ensuring that no instance of warfare supplying occurs within our company or with any of our clients and vendors.

Expectations

We expect the same high standards from all our business partners. The prevention, detection and reporting of warfare supplying in any part of the Company is the responsibility of all employees. All employees are required to avoid any activity that may lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy. Anyone who suspects that a breach of this policy has occurred must report it immediately. Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which may result in summary dismissal for gross misconduct. We also reserve the right to terminate any relationships with other organizations, including venders and customers, who breach this policy.

SHIPPING

Where is My Order?

Once your order has been fulfilled by our team, a shipping confirmation with a tracking number will be emailed. Please refer to the product page of the item you ordered for more information on shipping/lead times. 

By purchasing the Shipping Protection Plan, you agree to the following terms:

Coverage and Resolution Timeframe: 

The plan covers lost or stolen packages, with a resolution provided within 5-7 business days. If your product arrives damaged, you are eligible for a replacement product.

Reporting Damaged Products: 

Please submit your request through the “Contact” page on our website. Damaged products must be reported within 48 hours of receipt and must be unused. If a replacement is issued, the original product must be returned. A label will be provided for the return. 

Reporting Lost Products: 

Please submit your request through the “Contact” page on our website. If a “lost in transit” product arrives after a replacement has been sent, the original product must be returned.

If your package was stolen a police report must be filed by the customer for orders exceeding $500 USD before any resolution can occur.

The following terms apply to orders not covered by the Shipping Protection Plan:

General Terms

We reserve the right to refuse a replacement if there is reason to suspect a fraudulent claim. In the event a chargeback is initiated on an order, we reserve the right to delay resolution until the chargeback process is concluded. Claims can only be made once per product. If the lost or stolen item is a service case being returned, you will only be eligible for a replacement of equivalent value.
